12/5/08
Nothing really catchy in the news today but here are some thoughts from a coversation i had with an older gentleman at Chilli's the other day. We first started talking about military and he then commented on a book he had purchased regarding the changed that wars have brought to the world. Then we went into how the world needs another lone ranger...and it does make a lot of sence that since the media doesnt really promote the positive role model concept, kids are swimming upstream if they are wanting to learn to be civil. I have started this blog with the intent of having people submit stories of civility or the lack of it. I welcome comments and thoughts and strongly believe that this Obama/Biden white house will do more more than just talk and if all goes...this boat will be turning.

11/28/08 day after thanksgiving
Its funny how quickly people turn back into being selfish the day after they celebrate Thanksgiving. It could be that black friday, the push by retailers that makes america shop, has a lot to do with it, but me thinks people are just civically challenged. Lets see what happend in the news the day after Thanksgiving...'NEW YORK – A Wal-Mart worker was killed Friday when "out-of-control" shoppers desperate for bargains broke down the doors at a 5 a.m. sale.' The story goes on to say how the man was trampled on by other 'shoppers' since no one stopped to help. The day afer Thanksgiving, can you even call this a civil society.
